Advanced Wheat Improvement Course-2021
The CIMMYT wheat training program was established in 1968 with the mission of training plant scientists to overcome challenges in wheat production around the world. The Advanced Wheat Improvement Course is intended to be a thoughtful review of how novel technologies such as genomic selection, selection indices, GWAS analysis, and speed breeding are integrated into breeding pipelines to increase the current genetic gain for grain yield.
CANDIDATES
This course targets mid-career scientists working in NARS organizations, but graduate students and qualified self-sponsored visitors are also welcome to apply.
1- Familiarize participants with CIMMYT's strategic objectives and breeding priorities for developing wheat cultivars
2-Review the most recent advances in agricultural plant breeding and their application in breeding programs
