OVERVIEW. Since 1968, the CIMMYT wheat training program has been training plant scientists to address challenges in wheat production around the globe. The Basic Wheat Improvement Course provides an overview of basic concepts in genetics, conventional breeding, statistics, plant physiology and pathology, as well as the integration of new technologies into breeding pipelines.
CANDIDATES. The course is intended for mid-career scientists (<40 years old) working in NARS organizations, but graduate students are welcome to apply.
